USA Diary – Day 1 – Harriet Owen

After a long travel day and an evening of trying to stay awake as long as possible to try and adjust to US timings it was nice to head over to our host housing with my adopted team for the next 10 days. Following my first experience of American tacos we all headed out together on an easy ride around the area to try and spin out the travel from our legs before race day.

The day before race day and when everyone arrives is always a little hectic due to everyone trying to get settled, go food shopping, unpack, build bikes but I think everyone is pretty chilled now and good to go for some hard crit racing.

Race one is the Easy Troy Cycling Classic. All of the races are pretty close together as you can see on the map below.

Not much else to report on right now until we get racing but I’ll keep you posted and leave you with a picture of the view from our apartment we are staying in, its not all hardship….
