Lora Turnham and Corrine Hall return to Matrix Fitness

We’re both really happy to be back with Matrix, especially as we have an important year coming up. It’s good to be back with familiar faces as they have supported us so well in the past.

2014 World Champions Lora Turnham and Corrine Hall will return to Matrix Fitness in 2016 as the para-cycling pairing build up to the Rio Paralympic Games. Riding with Matrix Fitness during 2014, the pair moved to the IKON team as their membership with a UCI road team was sadly not possible under the governing bodies rules. On re-joining Matrix, Lora Turnham commented, “We’re both really happy to be back with Matrix, especially as we have an important year coming up. It’s good to be back with familiar faces as they have supported us so well in the past. We are both looking forward to getting back in the Matrix colours.”

Despite not retaining the World title this season, it was a successful season for the pair who took several wins in the World Cup in an increasingly competitive category. Lora and Corrine are contenders in both the road Time Trial and Road Race and their full focus is on Rio.

Corrine Hall, who also races solo in leading events in the UK have previously been a UK champion commented, “For me personally I’m very happy. Having spent two seasons with Matrix previously I know exactly how they work and know it’s the perfect place for me both on my solo riding and the tandem.” Corrine finished 5th overall in the extremely challenging Alexandra Women’s Tour of the Reservoir 2-day this year while racing solo, while the pairing won multiple National Titles on the track.

“Taking this side step for 2016 has given us a great opportunity to put Lora and Corrine back in the team. We know they felt at home here last year and everyone in our team and our sponsors are thrilled to have them back. We really hope they can qualify for the Paralympics and have a shot at glory in Rio. The complete Olympic and Paralympic period in 2016 could be very exciting for the team. This is very much a welcome home for both of them.” Commented team manager Stefan Wyman
