Matrix Pro Cycling are very proud to introduce one of our latest riders who will be making her UK race debut at the Aviva Women’s Tour starting later this week.
Nineteen year old Kimberley Le Court De Billot who always shortened to Kim Le Court was born and raised in the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius where her family still live. Kim who was educated at the Lycée La Bourdonnais in Mauritius, started riding when she was twelve years old.
She was the junior Mauritian Champion for two years in a row and is no stranger to road or mountain biking.
In 2012 Kim did her first race in South Africa at the Knynsa Oyster Festival and came 3rd overall in the 50 kilometer mountain bike event.
From there she has represented her country at both disciplines on many occasions. 4th place at the African Championships Junior on MTB in 2013 and 3rd at the African Championships as a junior in 2014.
She gained a 7th place at the Youth Olympics games in 2014 in China on her mountain bike and 5th on the road and was at the 2013 World Championships where her best was a 29th place.
In 2014 and 2015 Kim was racing on the local circuit in South Africa where she won the prestigious Amashova race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban over a distance of 106 kilometers. Her other major road win was at the 125 kilometer Carnival City race in Johannesburg where she outpaced three riders from competing teams to take the victory. Kim and her racing partner also won the Southern Tropical Mountain Bike four day stage race on her home island of Mauritius in late 2014.
We look forward to seeing Kim on the English roads next week where she will line up with some of the best women’s riders in the world.
